What a difference from Newburgh an hour or so earlier. Arrived to find Dan and Richard blasting around on 4.0 and 4.2m sails and getting some serious air with the odd loop thrown in for good measure. The wind was pretty much cross shore and howling. The waves were quite small at first, but built up nicely as the session progressed. Having never sailed here before, and not having used my wave board or 4.2m for a long while I wanted to find my feet so took it relatively easy. Soon got into it and managed a few half decent jumps and waverides that I was pretty happy with. Didn't really have any problems getting out through the waves if you judged the sets OK, and even though the swells were pretty big out the back, didn't have any problems getting round and back in again which was a serious confidence booster. Another few guys turned up which was good. What a really lovely beach to sail - glad I made the effort. Dan said he always had a good session when sailing up there, and I can well believe it.
